Identity Posters

An exploration in your own personal identity and how that can evolve into brand identities of a product or service.

Process included one-on-one desk critique, as well as full class discussions. Final results are sets of 3-piece posters, each poster with their own theme but all three must connect together.

Dimensions: 11x17”, 300 dpi

Personal Identity

Based on a set of my own personal attributes (owned: organized chaos, plant mom, coffee addict, neutrals, blunt; aspirational: colorful, friendly, creative, active, intentional), the intention of these posters is to explore your creative comfort zone. I personally tried to push these sets of posters to be visually very different but you will still see some underlying similarities such as the usage of text as texture.

Poster Set #1: Inspired by song lyrics

Process

✽ brainstorming concepts
✽ deciding typography
✽ putting together a color palette
✽ creating illustrative elements
✽ taking product photography

Poster Set #2: Inspired by my college apartment

Process

✽ brainstorming concepts, this concept came to me as I was staring at the wall at 3 AM
✽ deciding typography
✽ putting together a color palette
✽ creating geometric elements

Final Thoughts

These posters were super fun to make as I had complete creative freedom, the only restraints being the dimension of the page. You can tell the first set is more bold and colorful, whereas the second set is more subtle and not exactly organized but there isn’t one element that stands out above the others. You can probably guess which set aligns which group of aspirations.
